If you are around kids much, you know how enamored they can get over certain things. When we were younger, my four siblings and I would go in phases where we’d watch the same VHS over and over again for a few weeks (the reason I can quote Disney’s Aladdin verbatim). We’d play the same board game back-to-back for days on end (my brothers will forever deny playing Pretty, Pretty Princess, but they did!).
Kids find something they love and it’s hard to let go. Which is exactly what the Toy Story movies are about. I remember my parents taking us to the theatre to watch the first Toy Story and it was pure magic. Of course toys could talk…I knew it all along! The characters were not only Andy’s friends…they became mine too! Woody, Buzz and the gang are unforgettable, lovable, and grew with me as I grew up. I think we can all relate to that.

And now with Toy Story 4 out, I’m taking my own kids to the movie theatre to meet Buzz and Woody, and some new friends as well. It’s like I’m introducing them to my own friends.
If you haven’t seen Toy Story 4, do it! It’s one of those movies that tricks kids into thinking it’s for them, but Toy Story 4 is just as much for adults. It’s about Bonnie, Buzz and Woody’s new owner, and a new “toy” Forky she’s obsessing over. The movie pays perfect homage to childhood and the bonds we share with our toys.

5 Things My Kids Are Obsessing Over
Speaking of toys, here are 5 things from shopDisney my kids can’t let go of right now.
1. Forky everything
The character is one of the most lovable additions to the Toy Story gang that kids everywhere are going crazy over. Forky is a handmade toy that Bonnie creates on her first day of Kindergarten.
He’s the cutest thing and this interactive action figure has quickly become the favorite in our house. The kids take Forky everywhere. In fact, just like Bonnie in the movie, this little cutie sleeps with Forky and will wake up crying if she can’t find him.

2. Backpacks…they take them everywhere.
My kids are obsessed with backpacks…anyone else? Oh no, they’re not just for school. My kids pack them for every trip we go on and they use them all the time for pretend play. They can spend an entire summer day pretending that they are on a trip at Disneyland.
This Toy Story 4 backpack has been a real favorite. It is so reasonably priced and you can even personalize it. How fun would this backpack be for back-to-school?
3. Action figures
One of my favorite aspects of childhood is the ability to imagine. It’s a special thing to witness my kids lost in pretend.
Another thing my kids are loving right now is this toy character set.
It’s got some old and new Toy Story friends in it, including one of my kids’ favorite motorcycle dudes, Duke Caboom.

4. Character socks
