The Final Reveal and 6 BIG Tips for Keeping the Weight Off*

*Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. Tried other diets? It’s time for Jenny Craig!

Hi, I’m Katie and if you’ve been following my weight loss journey, you’ll know that I started out three months ago weighing 60 pounds more than I wanted to and at my wits end on where to turn. I’ve tried diet after diet with no real results. This time was different. This time I tried Jenny Craig and I can honestly say it has changed my life.

Three Months Later…The Big Reveal

Those who know me best will say that I am a self-sacrificer. I devote my days doing things for other people: my kids, my husband, my friends. With the help of my consultant at Jenny Craig, I now see that I deserve to take care of myself as well. I owe that to Katie.

Jenny Craig is not just a diet. It’s an amazing program that teaches you more about yourself than you ever knew. It’s not easy, although Jenny Craig makes it super convenient for you by sending healthy food directly to your home, or you can go into a center too. Whichever works for your lifestyle! Jenny Craig also gives you a personal consultant to help you all along the way. Jenny Craig gives you the tools and then you use them to get the body you want.

6 Big Tips for Keeping the Weight Off*

If you’re ready to lose weight for good, I’m here to tell you Jenny Craig works. If you want to keep the weight off for good–which I know for me will be a daily battle and one I’ll gladly fight–then here are 6 inspiring tips from my sage Jenny Craig consultant Rosanne. She really rocks!

1. Stop letting the weight hold you back.

For years I stopped myself from throwing a ball out in the backyard with my kids because my weight made excuses for me. I’d tried and talked myself out of running a half marathon because of those extra pounds. The funny thing is, those activities would’ve brought me better health and happiness all along!

Stop letting your weight be the excuse that holds you back from doing what you really want to do.

Last weekend, I did something HUGE for myself. I finally ran a half marathon—13.1 miles from start to finish. It was so hard, but the quote that I kept repeating over and over was, “She believed she could so she did.” After getting home and limping to the couch, my daughter brought me my necklace with that quote on it and I couldn’t help but cry happy tears because of all the hard work and emotions that brought me to this point.

If you believe you can, you will.

2. It’s time to think differently about food.

My personal Jenny Craig consultant told me as this experience winds down, that it’s time to start thinking differently about food. Every meal and snack comes with a choice. Think about the momentary satisfaction of eating fattening or high-calorie foods and compare it to the hard work that goes into burning those calories off.

Before you eat, think “Where will this end up on my body and is it worth it?”

Jenny Craig makes the eating part easy. They provide 6 premium meals a day—3 main meals and 3 snacks, and they’re all really yummy. Jenny Craig sets you up with healthy habits and then gives you the courage to maintain them.

3. Integrate healthy living for your whole family.

Don’t be the Lone Ranger on your quest for better health—get your whole family involved! You’ll be much more successful in the long run if you cut back on sugar for the entire family and keep fruit instead of cookies handy.

An unexpected perk of doing the Jenny Craig program is that it has made exercise and healthy eating contagious in my family. My oldest daughter wants to start an exercise routine and is trying to make better food choices. That’s super exciting to me! We’re going to start running together.

4. Make it a lifelong priority.

One quote I’ve printed out and hang on my fridge says,

“One reason people resist change is because they focus on what they have to give up, instead of what they have to gain.” (Author Unknown)

Dang this quote has helped me so much! My Jenny Craig consultant Rosanne talked to me quite frankly about my choices.  She has seen it before where someone will commit, and then have a “special occasion” and take a break or just quit. If you choose to prioritize weight loss and maintenance in your life, then you will succeed.

For myself and many of you, we might have to fight for it the rest of our lives, but if it’s a lifelong priority, it’s doable.

5. Improve your self-care.

There’s no way around this one. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you’re going to have to devote time to Y.O.U.

That means going to bed earlier and making sure you get regular, quality sleep. It means making exercise a part of your daily routine and drinking plenty of water. If you can chisel away time for those three things: sleep, exercise, and water, then you can make the Jenny Craig program work longterm for you.

6. This is the NEW you!

Today I weighed in at 165 pounds and I’m hoping tomorrow will be even less. This is the new me and I’m excited to get to know her better.

The other day, my Jenny Craig consultant had a funny request. She asked me to stop thinking about what it was like to live 26 pounds heavier. I might not realize it, but when we carry excess weight, it gets in the way of living life more fully. It’s time to let that person go and welcome the new, healthier version of myself in.

Here’s to the new Katie and here’s to the new you!

If you’re ready to give Jenny Craig a try, just buckle down and do it. You owe it to yourself and you deserve it.

There are over 600 Jenny Craig centers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Puerto Rico with over 2,500 consultants worldwide ready to help you get started. Food costs vary for each member, but start at $3.69 per item, plus the cost of shipping.

I can honestly say the Jenny Craig program has changed my life for the better. I’ve found myself having more fun with my kids—it’s been awhile since I’ve played catch with them. Today I weighed in at 165 pounds and I’m hoping tomorrow will be even less*. Every day, I’m just going to keep going. She believed she could so she did.
