7 Reasons Why Disney Cruise Line is Different From Other Cruises

Did you hear the news? Disney Cruise Line has just announced their Fall 2018 itineraries! The itineraries will be available to book on May 18th and we are so excited.
Why?
Because Disney Cruise Line is perfect for families and has so much to offer!

We book ALL our Disney trips AND all our vacations in general with Getaway Today. They are the best agency out there and do such a good job making sure everything is taken care of  – at the lowest cost!
Here are 7 reasons why Disney Cruise Line is different from other cruises and worth every dime!

The best part is that you can book your 2018 Disney cruise with only a deposit and don’t have to pay the remaining balance until about 90 days before you sail. You always get the best price and availability when you book sooner rather than later. Plus, our friends at Get Away Today can take care of every detail, from booking the cruise to setting up airfare, transportation and excursions at the ports. Make sure to call them at 877-510- 2929 for quotes and to book your Fall 2018 Disney cruise starting on May 18th . Mention HOWDOESSHE for some extra savings and treats!

When you choose a Disney cruise, you’ll be able to choose from itineraries with stops to experience the pink sand beaches of Bermuda, turquoise waters of the Caribbean, exciting culture of Mexico and Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. Or, choose from itineraries with stops throughout Europe, the Panama Canal and even Canada. These amazing destinations aren’t the only reason to book a Disney cruise. In fact, we have seven reasons why Disney Cruise Line is different from other cruises – making it a top choice for family cruising.

Here’s why we think you should choose a Disney cruise for your next family vacation:

Rotational Dining.
On most cruise ships, your family will have an assigned table in one banquet room with different food choices rotated for each dinner. Not on Disney Cruise Line! On a Disney cruise, you’ll actually dine in a different themed restaurant each night. This means you’ll be able to sample all kinds of different cuisines and atmospheres throughout the length of your cruise. Your servers will follow you to each restaurant as well, providing you with excellent service at each and every dinner. The rotational dining provided on every Disney cruise lets your family experience everything the ship has to offer when it comes to fine dining. We’re sure you’ll have a hard time choosing a favorite, but we love Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder, Lumiere’s on the Disney Magic, and the Enchanted Garden on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. You won’t need to worry about making reservations in advance for any of the restaurants since you receive your dining schedule when you embark. Just sit back, relax and enjoy some of Disney’s best cuisine.

Disney Characters.
The only place to meet Disney characters while navigating the high seas is a Disney cruise, of course. On top of the exciting entertainment offered each day, your family will have the opportunity to meet a variety of Disney characters throughout your cruise. Characters are subject to change, but include fan-favorites like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Chip ‘n Dale, Pluto, Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins. Select ships offer opportunities for character breakfasts and meeting the Disney princesses. Tickets are required for these popular events, but are included in your cruise fare. Certain itineraries even offer themed deck parties. Your family will be able to celebrate Halloween, Star Wars Days, Marvel Days, Christmastime and more with characters dressed for the occasion during these lively events.

Fireworks.

Speaking of deck parties, Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line to offer impressive fireworks displays while sailing. There’s almost nothing more magical than watching booming fireworks while they’re reflected on the waves below! Fireworks are offered one night out of almost every Disney cruise, usually accompanied by a deck party like Pirate Night or Stars Wars Day at Sea. Some Alaskan itineraries cannot include fireworks because of the protected waters you’ll be sailing through. Just make sure to check the cruise itinerary before you go to know whether fireworks will be included or not. It’s also important to note that the fireworks display is subject to change on any cruise itinerary, but Disney does their best to provide guests with the beautiful nighttime show.

Kids’ Clubs.

While most cruise lines offer a kids’ club or two, Disney Cruise Line goes above and beyond. Each Disney cruise ship offers four youth clubs so that kids of all ages have a space to play and be themselves. Don’t worry about letting your kids experience the clubs and activities by themselves, either. Disney has one of the safest programs for their kids’ clubs and performs a background check on every person sailing. Now that you know your kids will be safe as they gallivant around the ship, here’s all the fun they can enjoy with the kids’ clubs:

– Kids three to 12 years old will have a blast at Disney’s Oceaneer Club. They’ll be able to interact with Disney characters throughout the day, whether it’s learning to luau with Lilo and Stitch or race with Mickey. Crafts, immersive experiences and more are also included on a daily basis. Age recommendations are offered for the activities, but participation is completely up to the kids. That means that siblings and friends falling within the three to 12 age range can play together without any restriction.

– Disney’s Oceaneer Lab is the second club offered for kids three to 12 years old. The theming changes on each ship, but activities like learning how to draw Disney characters, watching movies and hunting for treasure are always included. Plus, the Oceaneer Lab offers guided group activities like helping Stitch catch Dr. Jumba’s experiments or putting on a comedy show to power up Monstropolis. You won’t have to worry about siblings being separated at the Oceaneer Lab, either. As long as the siblings are three to 12 they’ll be able to participate in any of the activities offered throughout the day.

– For kids 11 to 14, Disney offers the youth club, Edge. At Edge, your younger teens will be able to interact with tweens from around the world. On top of high-tech entertainment like video game systems and karaoke machines, they’ll be able to learn improv and race against the clock to complete team challenges for daily bragging rights. It’s the perfect hangout for any tween!

– If you have older kids aged 14 to 17, the Vibe youth club is where you’ll find them during your Disney cruise. The teens-only hangout includes both a media room and dance floor, offering something for everyone. Daily challenges and activities are also offered for teens who would like to participate.

It’s no wonder so many parents love Disney Cruise Line! Disney’s youth clubs offer so much more than other cruise lines, all included in the price of your vacation. If you have littles ones under three, Disney also offers the “it’s a small world” nursery. The nursery is additional and requires reservations, but opens a perfect opportunity for Mom and Dad to spend a romantic lunch or dinner together while the kids are having fun.

No Casinos.

Disney Cruise Line wants every cruise to be as family-friendly as possible, which is why you won’t find any casinos on their ships. Instead, Disney had dedicated these spaces to be areas for families to enjoy together. The Disney Cruise Line does offer relaxing adult-only areas as well – providing a true oasis for when you need a little peace and quiet.

First-run Disney Movies.

Is a new Disney movie being released while you’re sailing on your Disney cruise? The Buena Vista Theatre on each ship means you won’t have to worry about missing it. The Art Deco and Art Nouveau styled theater features both first-run films and classic Disney films for no additional cost. Show times are spread throughout the day, so your family can plan a full day of activities and still have time to enjoy a Disney movie. You can’t beat seeing a new Disney movie in the middle of the ocean!

Castaway Cay.

When you select certain Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries, your Disney cruise will include a stop or two at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island paradise. From snorkeling and waterslides to beach volleyball and kids’ club hangouts, there’s something for everyone at Castaway Cay. The island is only open to Disney Cruise Line guests and offers a beautiful beach and lagoon. Your meals are included here and you can use your room key for any souvenir purchases, making Castaway Cay one of the easiest ports to navigate. You can purchase an excursion like swimming with sting rays or fly fishing. Or, simply lounge on the beach and enjoy all the beauty the pristine island has to offer.

As you can see, Disney Cruise Line is definitely different from other cruise lines. In fact, it may just be the most family-friendly cruise line available right now. Which is why you should plan a family cruise on the Disney Cruise Line in 2018! You can already book for early 2018, with fall 2018 itineraries becoming available May 18, 2017.
