One of my joys in life is dressing up my kids for the holidays. Maybe that’s super corny to some of you, but it’s something that has brought me a smile since my first child was an infant. I look back on those holiday photos and it brings back a rush of emotion and ALWAYS a smile. From big red bows to red bowties. Sparkly dresses to fancy suits. Christmas is the season of “special” and “magical” and their clothes should reflect the sentiment. I was so excited to see that Walmart was carrying a lot of “holiday wear” that was not only darling, but also affordable because heaven knows, kids grow!
Walmart has been knocking it out of the park lately! I can’t tell you how much of my OWN wardrobe comes from there and my kids have even more! I love it because of the stylish options at affordable price points. Walmart offers 2 day free shipping for orders $35+ as well! I mean, shopping and I don’t even need to leave my house? Sign me up because the holiday season is busy enough!
Want to see a few of the things I snagged for them?
Let’s start with the boys (or BOY in this case…)
Getting a boy out of the basketball shorts and tees can prove difficult – even in the dead of winter.
(Can someone just tell me WHY they think that’s appropriate wear year round?)
I wanted to find something dressier, but that would still be comfortable, and by golly, I found it!
This suit came as a complete set (Coat, pants and plaid shirt), which made my shopping even easier!
I love that the suit coat is made of a stretchier knit. It makes it more like a sweater than a suit coat – and LOTS more comfortable.
They can run, jump and hang the stocking easier in this!
The set includes this nice Christmas plaid, but I feel like you can pair the coat and pants with a variety of different shirts. Guess what that means? Versatility year round and more bang for your buck.
I’m thinking about pairing it with a pink or other pastel shirt for Easter even!
Want more dressy options for boys? There are a ton more HERE.
Next up, the “older” girls…
Maybe it’s just me, but I find shopping gets a LOT more difficult when I jump from the little girl section to the bigger girls. Those tweens are somewhere in between child and woman and it’s difficult to find things that FIT, and aren’t covered in emojis and sequins. Not that anything’s wrong with sequins, but some might find it a little “much”. I prefer to go with more basic, and classic pieces, so this dress was a perfect fit!
One thing that really attracted me to this dress is the cut. You can’t really see it in photos, but the bottom has a slight flare that makes it a perfect “spinning” dress! It moves and flows with you and that makes it just FUN to wear! Plus, it has to be mentioned, this bold red dress is UNDER $8.
No lie. $7.88 and out the door.
Can you even?
Walmart has holiday wear for your littles too!
Why is it that little kids look darling in EVERYTHING? They just do!
I was a little overwhelmed with all the holiday appropriate wear for the younger gals (and guys!)
First up, this cable knit sweater and leggings.
The cable knit tunic sweater is a wintery white that I love! The cable knit design is CLASSIC, and can you see the pop of special detail?
FUR POCKETS!
Such a fun, thoughtful touch.
The top comes in a set with these fair isle print leggings, which scream holiday without being over the top with Santa and Christmas trees. These would be great to wear ALL winter long. BONUS: This set comes in sizes 4-18 in girls, so if you LOVE matching your crew, this would be a great option due to the wide range of sizing.
I also ADORE this ruffle top and pant combo.
For some reason it has an old school vibe to me.
I think it’s the houndstooth print pants and coordinating ruffle.
I also think this sweater would look just darling with a black skirt or casual with a pair of jeans – if you didn’t want to go coordinating!
And at this price, you’ll get your money’s worth of wear in no time!
The Christmas red feels holiday-ish to me, but again, this one could be worn year round!
There you have just a MINOR taste of the holiday wear selection at Walmart. There really is something for EVERY kiddo (and their mom!). Whether you be hitting a casual pie night as a family at Thanksgiving or an evening soiree closer to Christmas, you can really find JUST the right outfit for your kiddos (or yourself…but that’s a whole different post!)!
