A Casual, Layered look For Your Fall Wardrobe

****This post is sponsored by Walmart and RewardStyle, but all opinions are our own.****

Walmart does it again. I keep telling all my friends that I’m doing a LOT of our shopping – particularly for clothes and accessories- at Walmart. They have absolutely been knocking it out of the park in the style department, and we’ve all been reaping the benefits.

If you’re wondering why we’re loving Walmart, let’s talk about the crazy amount of selection they have for EVERY flavor of fashion. They’ve really stepped up their game, while keeping prices budget friendly, and the results are awesome! Plus, they offer so many options online, and most ship in 2 days! You can even get FREE shipping when you spend $35+. Totally easy to do obviously!

It seems like the key to fall fashion is LAYERS.

I’m always FREEZING in the mornings, and pretty warm by the afternoon.
I prefer layers that are pretty basic, but versatile.

I started with this beautiful, lightweight, dolman style sweater.
It has thick ribbing, a wider almost boat neck style neckline, and is the PERFECT amount of oversized. I don’t like shirts to fit snug because, well, babies, so it’s important to me to have a slightly oversized fit, without being sloppy. This sweater fit the bill.

I love that it has a slightly longer length, creating the ideal situation for a half tuck into jeans! And can we talk about that pretty plum color? PERFECT for Fall.

Speaking of jeans, if you’re looking for a comfortable pair of black jeans, THESE are winners.

They’re a solid black color, with the perfect amount of stretch. I feel like they’re easy to mold around any body (or should I say booty!?), but not SO much stretch that they’re falling off you by noon. They hold their shape well. If you don’t have a GREAT pair of black jeans, these would be  the ones to try! I feel like EVERY gal needs a basic pair of black jeans for Fall, and beyond!

On to layering…

THIS denim jacket is a little bit of a throw back. My mom swears she had one in the 80’s. I guess that makes her cool, because this jacket is just plain cool

It has a bit of a vintage wash that makes people wonder..”I wonder if she got that from some rad throw back store or not?”
The sherpa lining create a cozy situation and adds such a nice detail to what would otherwise be a basic denim jacket.
I love that sherpa!

Now that we have a basic and versatile layered look, let’s talk ACCESSORIES.

I mean, it’s important they’re layered too!

I choose two different shoes to offer totally different looks!

First up, the leopard flat.
Again, a super versatile shoes. Leopard is a neutral in my mind, and pairs with a variety of outfits pretty easily! I love the pop of pattern these offer. I also think they add a more delicate, and feminine touch against the stark black jeans. I also really loved this mule version! These are only $15 and a great transition shoe between seasons.
These flats will take you from lunch with your girlfriends to the office to date night!

I also loved the more utilitarian style, the modernized combat boot.
I have to admit, this style of boots used to frighten me.
They just felt so masculine, but lately, I’m LOVING them. They seem more chic to me – like I should be walking the streets of the fashion forward New York City.
Plus, I think they give the outfit a totally different flair.

Walmart is your one stop shop for all your Fall looks.
They have a TON of great layering pieces that will carry you through the ever changing temperatures of Fall, into the cold of winter.
