Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Foaming Liquid Hand Soap

I’ll admit, I’ve been on the homemade products with essential oils train for a long time however I’ve never made my own hand soap. I put it in the “that’s probably more work than I want to do” category. Gah, I feel so dumb now after mixing up my own hand soap so I’m here to spread the word that you should be making your own foaming liquid hand soap, too!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1/3 cup of castile soap

2 tsp tractionated coconut oil (you could also use olive oil)

15-20 drops of lemon essential oil (found here)

liquid soap dispenser (re-use an empty one from around the house)

2/3 cup of distilled water

Yep, that’s all you’ll need!

I use a little funnel because I’m messy like that but it’s not necessary. I just pour in the castile soap followed by the fractionated coconut oil and water into my liquid soap dispenser and give it a little swirl then I drop in about 15 drop of my lemon essential oil and BAM, the perfect foamy, lemony fresh soap on the block. I’m not sure why I thought it would be so difficult to make my own. I’m so glad I tried this out. We will be saving SO MUCH money on making our own liquid hand soap which is probably most exciting of all.

You can also get creative by mixing different oils into your soap for a new scent. I’m going to try lavender essential oil when we run out of our current lemon soap.
